Oatmeal Cookie

  1. 90 ml (6 tbsp.)       granulated white sugar
  2. 125 ml (1/2 cup)    brown sugar, packed
  3. 125 ml (1/2 cup)    butter, softened
  4. 2 ml (1/2 tsp.)        vanilla extract
  5. 1 whole                    egg
  6. 175 ml (3/4 cup)    all purpose flour
  7. 2 ml (1/2 tap.)        baking soda
  8. 250 ml (1 cup)        Quaker Oats 
    (any variety, uncooked)
  9. 2 ml (1/2 tsp.)         salt
  10. 15 ml (1 tbsp.)         water
  11. 125 ml (1/2 cup)     seedless raisins

 

Heat oven to 165ºc (325ºf).
 Sift together flour and soda in a bowl. Stir in Quaker Oats and salt.

In a separate bowl cream together sugar, brown sugar and butter.

Add egg and vanilla to the creamed mixture and heat in until smooth.

 Add dry mix­ture; then add water and mix. Add raisins and mix well.

Drop 5 ml (1 tsp.) of batter on a greased cookie sheet and bake 10 - 12 minutes or until light brown.

 

  MAKES 3 DOZEN.

 Variations: Replace raisins with chocolate chips.
